The Department of General Services, Bureau of Capital Outlay Management (BCOM), is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code as it relates to buildings on state property, for developing state policies & procedures on the procurement of professional & construction services and for establishing accessibility standards for state buildings. We are seeking a qualified licensed Engineer to perform all tasks related to Electrical Engineering Review of building plans and specifications and inspection of construction.
A Professional Engineer license is required, must obtain a Virginia Professional Engineer license within 6 months of employment. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Valid driver’s license required.
ICC certifications as Electrical Plans Examiner and Commercial Electrical Inspector; applicant must achieve within 6 months of hire.
Fingerprint-based criminal background check, DMV Check & Statement of Economic Interest required. Anticipated hiring range $80,000 – $101,000
